What Sign PDF does
Draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger — or type your name in a script font — and the tool places it on the page and position you choose, then saves a new PDF. It is the everyday e-signature: the lease, the permission slip, the consent form, the offer letter that arrives as a PDF and needs a signature back today, without printing and scanning. The signature image is stamped into the page content in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Under the US ESIGN Act, the EU eIDAS regulation and similar laws elsewhere, a simple electronic signature is legally valid for ordinary contracts when the parties intend it as a signature. For notarised documents, certain government filings or where the counterparty demands a qualified signature, use a certificate-based service.
Placing the signature
- Page: enter the page number; the tool shows how many pages the file has once loaded.
- Position: six presets — the corners, bottom centre and page centre. Bottom right is where most signature lines sit.
- Width: as a percentage of page width. 25–35% suits a signature line; 15–20% for an initial.
- To sign several pages, run the tool again on the output for each page, or use the same output as input.
Drawing a good signature
- Draw larger than you think — the image is scaled down, and thin strokes drawn small become ragged.
- A trackpad works; a phone or tablet screen with a finger works better. A stylus works best.
- The background is transparent, so the signature sits cleanly over a signature line.
- The typed option renders your name in a cursive font — quick, but recognisably generic. Some counterparties ask for a drawn signature.
