About the QR code tools

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that a phone camera can read in a fraction of a second. It stores plain text — most often a web address — as a grid of black and white modules, with built-in error correction so the code still scans when part of it is smudged, printed small, or partially covered by a logo. That makes QR codes the simplest way to move someone from a printed page, a poster, a product label or a slide deck to a specific page on the web without typing.

Every generator here builds the code entirely in your browser. Beyond a plain URL, there are codes the phone knows what to do with: join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact card, open a pre-filled email or text message, add an event to the calendar, drop a pin in the maps app, open an app store listing, request a crypto payment, or simply display a piece of text offline. You choose a size and error-correction level and download a PNG or SVG that is ready to print. Nothing is uploaded, no account is created, and the code has no expiry: unlike "dynamic" QR services that route scans through their own redirect domain, a code generated here points straight at your URL and keeps working for as long as that page exists.

Before printing, test the code with more than one phone, keep a quiet margin of at least four modules around it, and avoid placing it on a busy background. If you expect it to be scanned from a distance — a banner or shop window — increase the physical size rather than the pixel dimensions; the tool page explains how to pick a sensible size for each use case.
